My work investigates a variety of the themes including consumption, excess, and the tension between high and low cultural classifications. I use common tropes, such as the tradition of landscape and still-life painting, combined with Unicorn Culture, Faux Luxe, and other kitsch trends, to recall various cultural associations, and to question wide-held assumptions. At times, these works reference the inaccessible magic of a saccharine innocence found in popular culture, tempered by the historical weight of the value associated with high arts.
